Art. Access. Community.
The Lofty Pursuits
Art House Vision
The Lofty Pursuits Art House is a vision in progress.
The long-term vision for Lofty Pursuits is to function as an art house focused on helping marginalized communities access creative resources, develop their artistic practices, and build community. While we do not yet have a permanent physical home, the Art House is already taking shape through pop-up events, workshops, collaborations, and community projects throughout the city.
These programs and services currently exist on a project-by-project basis as we work toward establishing a permanent home for this work - a space where the relationships, ideas, and creative opportunities already being cultivated can grow and continue to serve our community.
We believe art should be more than something people consume. It can be a way to connect, explore identity, develop confidence, tell stories, imagine new possibilities, and create spaces where people feel seen.
The Lofty Pursuits Art House will bring together creative direction, experience design, artist development, community programming, and multidisciplinary art to create opportunities for people to make, learn, collaborate, and experience art together.
Who We Serve
The Art House is primarily rooted in supporting artists, creatives, and community members from marginalized and historically underserved communities - particularly people who have had limited access to creative resources, artistic spaces, mentorship, funding, or opportunities to develop their work. This includes emerging artists who are still finding their voice, established creatives looking for community and collaboration, young adults exploring creative practices, and community members who simply want a place to experience and participate in art.
You do not have to identify as a professional artist to belong in the space.
Curiosity is enough.
What Happens Here
The Art House will be a space for making, gathering, learning, and imagining.
It will provide opportunities for:
Artist development through workshops, mentorship, skill-building, creative resources, and opportunities to experiment.
Creative direction and collaboration through multidisciplinary projects, productions, exhibitions, and artist-led experiences.
Experience design through immersive events, installations, gatherings, and programs designed to make people feel something—not simply attend something.
Accessible creative resources including equipment, materials, education, information, and connections to funding and professional opportunities.
Artist opportunities through showcases, commissions, residencies, partnerships, grants, and other avenues for creatives to develop and share their work.
Free and low-cost programming that allows people to participate in creative experiences regardless of their financial circumstances.
The Art House will not be limited to one medium or one definition of what art can be.
Photography, painting, music, fashion, writing, sculpture, performance, design, film, and emerging forms of creative expression can all exist within the same ecosystem.
A Multidisciplinary Practice
Lofty Pursuits approaches art without strict boundaries.
Photography may become a starting point for a larger installation. A workshop may become a community project. A portrait session may become an archive. A gathering may become a performance. A conversation may become the beginning of an entirely new idea.
We are interested in following the idea wherever it leads.
Creative direction and experience design allow us to connect those ideas, to shape not only what people see, but what they feel, experience, remember, and carry with them.
Artist development is equally important. The goal is not simply to create beautiful work, but to help artists develop the tools, confidence, resources, relationships, and opportunities needed to sustain their creative practices.
The Art House Is Already Beginning
The Art House does not begin with a building. It begins with the work.
Today, Lofty Pursuits is building this vision through sporadic workshops, community events, creative projects, collaborations, portrait days, giveaways, and partnerships throughout the city. These experiences are opportunities to test ideas, build relationships, learn what our community needs, and discover what the Art House can become. Every event is a small piece of the larger vision.
The house is being built before it has an address.
Eventually, Lofty Pursuits will have a permanent home, a physical space where artists and community members can return again and again to create, gather, learn, exhibit, collaborate, and experience something new. A place where a photographer can meet a musician, where a painter can collaborate with a dancer, where an emerging artist can find a mentor, where someone who has never considered themselves an artist can walk through the door and discover that they are one, and where community is not an afterthought to the art. Community is part of the art.
The Long-Term Vision
The Lofty Pursuits Art House will grow into a creative ecosystem that supports both the individual artist and the community around them. Our vision is not simply to create another gallery, studio, or event venue. We want to create a place where creative possibility is easier to access - a place where people have the resources to make things, the freedom to experiment, the opportunity to be seen, the support to develop, and the community to keep going.
Lofty Pursuits is building a home for art that believes everyone deserves the opportunity to make, experience, and participate in it.
